Delve into the fascinating and complex world of the National Health Service with campaigner, comedian and general practitioner Dr Phil Hammond in a discussion of his latest book Staying Alive: How to Get the Best From the NHS.
For over twenty years Dr Phil Hammond has been tickling our funny bone as the medical correspondent for Private Eye and has appeared on British television shows such as Have I Got News For You, The One Show and his own BBC2 show Trust Me, I'm a Doctor. He was also the first to detail the allegations made against surgeons in the 'Bristol Heart Scandal' of the early 1990s which lead to the largest public inquiry into medical practices in British history seven years later.
Join us for a chance to probe the innards of the British healthcare system and our explore our complex relationship with one of Britain's most precious institutions: the NHS.
Phil will also be signing copies of the book after the talk.
