My Name Is Why: Lemn Sissay in conversation

Wednesday 4th September 2019 7pm - 8pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Signing, Chargeable Event

Spend an evening in the company of beloved poet, playwright and broadcaster Lemn Sissay as he talks about, and reads from, his frank and timely new memoir My Name Is Why.

Reflecting on his childhood in care, self-expression and the concept of ‘Britishness’, Sissay will explore the institutional care system, race and family, and celebrate the redemptive power of creativity. This is Lemn’s story: a story of neglect and determination, misfortune and hope, cruelty and triumph.

This event will chaired by literary journalist and editor Alex Clark and will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.

Tickets: £20 including a copy of My Name is Why (RRP £16.99) / £8 standard / £5 Student or Foyalty member*. When purchasing a Student or Foyalty ticket, you'll need to bring a valid in-date Student card or Foyalty card with you.
