‘‘A spellbinding synthesis of analysis and highly personal reportage’
— The Independent
Drawing on over a decade’s worth of experience working as a foreign correspondent reporting from within numerous conflict zones, award-winning author and journalist Christina Lamb (I Am Malala) introduces us to her devastating new reportage Our Bodies, Their Battlefield: What War Does to Women—an incendiary, angry and excoriating account of the scale of sexual violence in modern conflict.
With rare insight into the day-to-day lives of women living within the battle lines, Lamb will address the systemic use of rape in war, and its continual deployment as a cruel, inhumane military tactic. She will draw our focus to the vast depth of stories that have for too long gone ignored, amplifying the voices of women whose own bodies have been regarded as battlegrounds over which wars can be won and lost, and indicate the fundamental changes required to protect women in times of extreme conflict.
‘A brave and exceptional book'
