Join us for the 2020 instalment of the Nu Jazz Moves series with leading creative producers and talent development agency, Tomorrow’s Warriors, showcasing the next generation of game-changing jazz artists to hit the London scene. This session will feature tenor saxophonist, bandleader and composer Ayodeji Ijishakin.
Well immersed in the London jazz scene, Ijishakin has played with Moses Boyd, Kokoroko and Joe Armon-Jones as well as being a member of Nihilism, Levitation Orchestra and bandleader for Hypernova. Having taken up the clarinet aged thirteen, he moved onto the soprano saxophone before settling on the tenor. He is influenced by jazz giants John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter as well as classical composers Wagner and Shostakovich. Many of his compositions draw from his interest in human psychology, which he is currently studying at university.
Doors will open at 6.00pm with the performance starting at 6.30pm, running until 7.30pm.
