Join us for May’s instalment of our hugely popular NYJO Jazz Jam. This session will be lead by singer, songwriter and bassist Binisa Bonner.

More recently known for her collaborations with South London producer, Wu-Lu, Binisa Bonner has also played for artists such as Rosie Lowe, Eliane Correa and Ata Kak, whose music spans pop, R&B, Cuban Jazz and 90s house music. Ruby and the Vines, her former trio with guitarist Greg Sanders (Teotima) and drummer Ben Assiter (James Blake) achieved critical acclaim for their 2011 EP, ‘Red Storm’. The band’s music drew influences from jazz, rock and west African music. Binisa and former members will be doing an exclusive Ruby and the Vines performance for the NYJO Jazz Jam at Foyles.

The NYJO Jazz Jam is open to all under 18’s—parents, passers-by and jazz fans are all welcome to stay and enjoy the music. The musicians will kick-start the session with a set at midday, then the floor will open to all those who want to jam*
