Coast and Country: An exhibition by Carol Owen

In this exhibition of her paintings - her third at the Gallery at Foyles - Carol Owen continues to explore her favourite themes: landscape and coastal scenes. Carol is interested not just in topographical views but in the subtle differences in the quality of natural light at different times of day. Sketches, photographs and memory all play their part in her work. Each painting is the result of many hours of thought and study based on Carol's observations and inner experience of her chosen scene at a chosen time.

As befits the time and care which goes into the making of each picture, the oil paints, canvases and frames which Carol uses are of the highest possible quality.
