Gollanczfest 2019 - Morning-Only Reader's Ticket

Saturday 19th October 2019 11am - 2pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Signing, Chargeable Event

We’re delighted to team up with Gollancz Publishing for Gollanczfest 2019—the UK’s premiere sci-fi, fantasy and horror book festival.

Get yourself along to our Charing Cross Rd flagship and the Phoenix Artist's Club just across the street for a day of panels, workshops and signings. Hear your favourite authors debate everything, from travelling at faster-than-light speed to who wrote the best magic system; receive expert advice on your writing project from leading voices in the business, and meet all the writers themselves as they sign your favourite books.

As in previous years, Gollanczfest will be running two separate strands. The Reader’s ticket will grant you access to the panels and speaker events in the auditorium at Foyles, whilst the Writer’s Ticket opens the doors to the Phoenix Artist's Club to those wanting to improve their craft and receive an insight into the publishing process.

Take a look at the schedule for the Morning-Only Reader’s events at Foyles Charing Cross Road below:

MORNING-ONLY GOLLANCZFEST READER’S TICKET – £12

Authors appearing include: Garth Nix, Joe Abercrombie, Dhonielle Clayton, Joanne Harris, Ben Aaronovitch, Adam Roberts, Tom Lloyd, Laura Lam, Justina Robson, Ed McDonald, Elizabeth May, Paul McAuley, Edward Cox, Tom Toner, Mike Shackle, Tricia Sullivan, Catriona Ward, Gavin Smith, Vic James, Miles Cameron, Alexander Dan Vilhjálmsson, Aliette de Bodard, Rob Grant, Andrew Marshall, Pat Cadigan, Emma Newman, Ian McDonald & Simon Morden

This ticket grants you access to the morning events at Foyles Charing Cross Road, including:

11:40am – 12:20pm Panel: The Reality of Life in Space:
How closely does sci-fi mirror reality, and how do new inventions in tech inspire stories of the future?

Featuring: Pat Cadigan, Ian McDonald, Simon Morden & Emma Newman

12:20pm – 1:00pm Panel: Fantasy Throughout History:
Why do certain countries and certain historical periods end up as the inspiration for so many fantastical worlds? And which new ones do we want to explore?

Featuring: Alexander Dan Vilhjálmsson, Aliette de Bodard, Miles Cameron & Dhonielle Clayton

1:00pm – 2:00pm Signing:

Featuring: Ben Aaronovitch, Joanne Harris, Rob Grant, Andrew Marshall, Pat Cadigan, Ian McDonald, Simon Morden, Emma Newman, Alexander Dan Vilhjálmsson, Aliette de Bodard, Miles Cameron & Dhonielle Clayton

If you wish to meet all the guest authors, we recommend you stay in one venue/purchase all-day tickets. This is because the authors will be rotating between venues after the lunchbreak—if you were to attend as Reader in the morning and Writer in the afternoon (or the other way around), it’s likely you would see the same authors in both morning and afternoon sessions.

Tickets: £12 Morning-Only Gollanczfest Reader’s Ticket

Venue: Level 6, Foyles 107 Charing Cross Road
