We Shall Fight Until We Win: Pioneering Political Women The Graphic Anthology

Tuesday 3rd July 2018 6:30pm - 7:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Signing, Free Event

From the creator of Nasty Women comes a feminist graphic anthology charting the political pioneers and fearless females who kicked butt for equality over the last one hundred years.

We’ve buddied up with 404 Ink and BHP Comics to host an evening with some of the anthology’s artists and contributors to discuss the art of the graphic anthology, the importance of highlighting the overlooked achievement of female pioneers past and present, and the stories each contributor decided to tell.

Joining us onstage:

Sabeena Akhtar: Writer, editor and festival coordinator of Bare Lit, the UK’s principal festival celebrating remarkable writers in the diaspora. Akhtar is also editor of upcoming anthology Cut From The Same Cloth, and is currently working on her first novel.

Siana Bangura: Writer, performer and producer Bangura is the founder of Black British Feminist platform No Fly on the WALL and a publisher at Haus of Liberated Reading. Bangura is the author of Elephant, a meditation on Black British womanhood.

Wei Ming Kam: Contributor to the best-selling essay collection The Good ImmigrantMedia Diversified and Gal Dem, Ming works in publishing and is the co-founder of both BAME in Publishing and Pride in Publishing.

Shazleen Khan: A London-based illustrator and comic maker, Khan has been part of the UK small press scene since 2011 and blends both digital and traditional mediums together in her work to examine topics such as race, gender and LGTBQ politics.

Tickets: Free reservation / £9.99 including a copy of the book.
