Dear Foyles customers,
An update about what’s going on with us in light of the current public health crisis, and its impact on our bookshops:
To help prevent spread of the Coronavirus, and to protect the wellbeing of our customers and staff, Foyles will temporarily close its doors by the close of trade Monday 23 March until further notice.
During these times you can still remain bookish: you can order online at foyles.co.uk, where we offer free UK standard delivery on all orders. Subscribe to our newsletter to keep abreast of what’s new and recommended, and/or follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. Don’t forget our range of subscription packages too!
The demand for online orders has seen a huge sustained increase, and our warehouse is working extremely hard to make sure orders are picked, packed and sent as swiftly as possible, all within social distancing guidlines. Due to the sheer scale of the operation and the far-from-normal situation there may be delays to your order arriving. Our shops normally process many of our online orders, but are currently unable to do so, due to the shop closures, and so orders for these titles are now coming through our warehouse which may result in a delay to your order. We are extremely grateful to Royal Mail who are working incredibly hard to get all deliveries to our customers as quickly as possible.
Latest UK Delivery Estimates
- Free delivery - 6-8 workings days
- UK Courier (£7.95) - No longer available
- 1st Class (£3.75) - 4-5 working days
However, these are only estimates, and deliveries could face subsequent delays once they have shipped from our warehouse. We are doing everything we can to get books to you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and support in these unprecedented times.
As our shops are currently closed, all online orders are being processed through our distribution centre used for businesses across the Waterstones group. As such some Foyles orders may arrive in Waterstones branded packaging.
On our website we have suspended the Click & Collect service across all of our shops, along with the Deliver to Shop option for the time being.
We have taken the decision to cancel all of our public events until at least the end of May, and we'll review events from there on as the situation develops. For a full list of upcoming activity see our events page. Similarly we will not be fielding bookings of private hires of our Charing Cross Road space until at least the end of May. Upcoming exhibitions in the Gallery at Charing Cross Road have been postponed for the time being.
We’ll update this page with any further changes as and when any further decisions are taken. Keep safe and share kindness wherever you can.
Everyone at Foyles
