Tina May presents Ella And Her Fellas

Vocalist, Tina May will celebrate the centenary of Ella Fitzgerald with an emphasis on the songs of Ellington and Strayhorn. Her fellas will include pianist, Martin Litton and saxist/clarinettist Frank Griffith.

An internationally recognised performer, Tina has sung with Jazz icons Kenny Clarke and Ray Bryant as well as sang in the Ellington Sacred concert at Durham Cathedral with the Stan Tracey Big Band. Pianist, Martin Litton, has appeared with  Humphrey Lyttleton, Bob Wilber and Scott Hamilton as well as performed the music of Fats Waller and Duke Ellington  on solo piano at the London Jazz Festival. Saxophonist, Frank Griffith,  a USA expatriate residing in the UK,  has played, recorded and arranged for the likes of Lionel Hampton, Mel Torme, Sir John Dankworth, Dame Cleo Laine and Kenny Wheeler. He is also on the board of the Duke Ellington Society in Uinted Kingdom (DESUK) as the Artistic/Academic Adviser.

This concert will be dedicated to the memory of the recent passing of DESUK's chairman, keen pianist and enthusiast of all things Ellington, Geoff Smith.
