Royal Festival Hall
Literary Event, Signing, Free Event
The Poetry Garden Market is an end-of-summer extravaganza of contemporary poetry on our lawn at Foyles at Southbank Centre, with poetry for sale in all shapes and sizes, plus readings, workshops and an 'Indian Summer' poetry competition. No garden would be complete without flowers, and you'll be able to pick up a hand-tied bouquet to take home with your books. To celebrate 10 years of supporting independent book publishers, Inpress will be bringing an extensive range of their poetry pamphlets, anthologies, books magazines and special limited editions for you to browse and buy, and we will welcome Inpress poets as they give us readings specially curated by the Poetry Library. The Poetry School will guide you through some close reading workshops throughout the afternoon, and the birthday celebrations will continue into the evening as the winner of the 'Indian Summer' poetry competition is announced, followed by an evening reception with wine and cake. For a full schedule of the day's events, and details of how to enter the Indian Summer Poetry Competition, please visit the Inpress website or pick up a leaflet instore. Free, no need to book - just come along!
