EXCLUSIVE LONDON EVENT - P D James - Death Comes to Pemberley
|
|
P D James is one of Britain's most beloved crime writers, whose Adam Dalgliesh mysteries have kept readers enthralled since Cover Her Face was published in 1962. Foyles is delighted to be hosting her only London appearance this autumn, in which she will be in conversation about her new novel, Death Comes to Pemberley, which is inspired by her lifelong passion for the novels of Jane Austen. The book is a hugely entertaining departure for PD James: set in 1803, it introduces the affluent Darcy and Elizabeth, head of a family who are at the heart of Pemberley society. This gentility is destroyed on the eve of the annual autumn ball, when Elizabeth's unreliable younger sister arrives, screaming that her husband has been murdered. PD James will be in conversation with journalist & art critic Jake Kerridge. Venue: The Gallery at Foyles Tickets: Free, but need to be reserved by adding the required number to the basket below or by emailing [email protected]. No physical tickets will be issued: the order confirmation you will receive after you add ticket/s to your basket is your proof of reservation. You can read the prologue to P D James' new book here.
