Join Paul Lynch, the winner of the Booker Prize 2023 for his novel Prophet Song, in conversation with last year’s winner, Shehan Karunatilaka, for an unmissable evening hosted by Anita Rani at Foyles Charing Cross Road.
This is the first, London-exclusive event with the new winner, who will be comparing notes with the 2022 winning author on their craft, their award-winning books and their Booker experience. The winner will be announced on the evening of Sunday 26th November.
Paul Lynch is an internationally acclaimed Irish novelist who has published five novels, most recently Prophet Song, the winner of the Booker Prize 2023. His third novel, Grace, won the 2018 Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year and the 2020 Ireland Francophonie Ambassadors’ Literary Award. His second novel, The Black Snow, won France’s bookseller prize, Prix Libr’à Nous for Best Foreign Novel.
Shehan Karunatilaka is considered one of Sri Lanka’s foremost authors. He is the multi-award winning author of two novels: Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew and The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, which won the Booker Prize 2022. In addition to his novels he has written rock songs, screenplays and travel stories.
Anita Rani is a television and radio broadcaster. She is also the Sunday Times bestselling author of a memoir, The Right Sort of Girl, and a novel, Baby Does a Runner, which was published this year.
