Nathan Hill in Conversation with Max Liu

Nathan Hill – ‘the best new writer of fiction in America’ (John Irving) – comes to Foyles to launch Wellness, a Chicagoan epic of contemporary life in the tech age, and his first novel since The Nix.

Roaming from the underworld art scene of 90s Chicago to modern-day suburbia, Wellness follows Jack and Elizabeth from their college days to middle-age, unravelling their dreams, memories, and traumas. Interrogating the absurdities of modern technology and modern love with characteristic wit and empathy, Hill’s latest work reveals profound truths about intimacy and connection in the world today.

Nathan Hill's short stories have appeared in many literary journals, including The Iowa Review, AGNI, The Gettysburg Review, and Fiction, where he was awarded the annual Fiction Prize. He is the author of The Nix and Wellness.

This event will be hosted by writer and critic Max Liu, whose journalism has appeared in numer-ous publications, including The Guardian, The i and the FT.
