Returning items purchased instore
We are happy to refund or exchange unwanted items on presentation of a valid receipt or dispatch note provided they are returned within 30 days and in pristine condition. You can return items to any Foyles shop.

Refunds will be made by the original payment method.
Where an item is exchanged for a cheaper product, the difference will be refunded by the original payment method.
Returning items purchased online
You may return items purchased on our website within 30 days of receiving your delivery or collection notification email.
Refunds are issued to the original method(s) of payment.
Returns Procedure
To return an order placed on Foyles.co.uk, please follow the procedure below:
- Accompanying your order will be a dispatch note. Enter one of the eight Returns Reason Codes listed on the dispatch note against the relevant item.
- Using one of the two tick boxes alongside, please indicate whether your preferred option is to receive a refund or to request a replacement.
- Repack the item (in its original packaging, if applicable) along with the dispatch note, attaching the peel off pre-paid returns label. If you've lost your dispatch note our Freepost returns address is below.

Items can also be returned to your nearest Foyles shop on presentation of your dispatch note. Please visit our Shop page to find your nearest branch.
Our Freepost returns address can only be used for orders placed on Foyles.co.uk. If you have made a purchase in one of our shops and you would like to return it, please speak to a bookseller in store.
Order Cancellations
A customer may cancel an order between placing the order and up to 14 days after receipt of the goods. If the cancellation happens after the goods have been dispatched then a refund will be made within 14 days of receipt of the goods back at Foyles or 14 days within receiving proof of postage from the customer, if earlier. The cost of returning the goods to Foyles will be the responsibility of the customer. Please advise us of your intention to cancel using email address [email protected].
Damaged items
If an item is damaged upon receipt or collection, please complete the returns section of the dispatch note, and return as below using our Freepost service.
The time limit for return is still 30 days, but you can speed the process along by emailing a photograph of the damage to [email protected]., along with your order number.
Late Delivery
In the event of dispatched items being delayed or lost in the post we will offer to replace or refund:
15 days after despatch if the item was sent UK Standard Class
10 days after despatch if the item was sent UK 1st class
21 days after despatch if the item was sent Western Europe Airmail
21 days after despatch if the item was sent USA/Canada Airmail
35 days after despatch if the item was sent Rest of the World Airmail
Courier services will only be refunded or replaced if the tracking details show that the goods have not been signed for at the correct address. If the goods are delayed through customs or issues with the receiver of the goods Foyles will not refund or replace. Should delays occur in the delivery that are caused by the courier a discretionary refund to reflect the level of service may be provided.
International Returns
To return items ordered internationally, please follow the procedure below:
- Accompanying your order will be a dispatch note. Enter one of the eight Returns Reason Codes listed on the dispatch note against the relevant item.
- Using one of the two tick boxes alongside, please indicate whether your preferred option is to receive a refund or to request a replacement.
- Repack the item (in its original packaging, if applicable) along with the dispatch note, and send it to the returns address below (please note the Freepost service is only open to customers within the UK). For the return of high-value goods, we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for non-delivery of returned items.
