Saving Private Ryan has been voted the best war film of all time by movie fans, according to a new survey.

A fifth of those polled (21 per cent) placed the Tom Hanks movie as number one, ahead of another Spielberg war epic Schindler's List.
Full Metal Jacket ranked at number five in the LoveFilm Ultimate War Movies chart, with Platoon, Braveheart, Black Hawk Down and Deer Hunter also making the list.
The only non-English language film was another Second World War drama, the German submarine classic Das Boot starring Jurgen Prochnow.
LoveFilm carried out the poll to mark the release of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds in cinemas.
The director's latest film is another Second World War film starring Diane Kruger and Brad Pitt.
