Ray's Jazz and Tomorrow's Warriors Present: The Jazz Salon at Foyles
A series of intimate performances and meditations on the cultural reverberations of jazz with our regular host, journalist and broadcaster Kevin LeGendre, Gary Crosby and the Jazz Salon House Band.
This month host Kevin LeGendre and guests will explore the enduring connection between music and the spoken word. Tracing a line from 1920s jazz poetry to the present day, we discuss why words and music continue to represent revolution.
Performance by the Gary Crosby Jazz Salon House Band, including a rendition of ‘Scenes in the City” by Charlie Mingus.

Loved last night at the Jazz Salon. I was lucky enough to be at the Ice-T McCurdy Ask your Mama gig at The Barbican so this session was a must. Charlie Dark, Shabaka Hutchings, great new talent joining the party and erudite banter between Gary Crosby and Kevin LeGendre. Perfect evening's entertainment on the 6th floor at bargain basement price. Two more sessions are in my diary.
