National Poetry Day: The People Vs. Poetry

Thursday 4th October 2018 7pm - 8:30pm 107 Charing Cross Road Literary Event, Signing, Chargeable Event

Where does poetry stand in 2018? Does it deserve its reputation or are poets having us on, leading us astray, deliberately and wilfully obscuring meaning to keep us not only in the dark but in our place?

Four poets: Craig Raine, Sandeep Parmar, Richard Scott and Victoria Adukwei Bulley step up to defend their art and place their poetry in the firing line ready to face whatever you can figuratively throw at them.

Adjudicators Will Harris and Richard Osmond will oversee readings from each poet followed by a Newsnight-style grilling from the panel and audience on their poetic choices this is your chance to demand answers and hold poetry accountable or defend it with every fibre of your being.

Tickets: £8 standard / £5 Student or Foyalty member*. When purchasing a Student or Foyalty ticket, you'll need to bring a valid in-date Student card or Foyalty card with you.

Venue: Level 6, Foyles 107 Charing Cross Road
