“Dracula”
(Hardback)
I believe myself to be a cynical type of person. Scoffing at movies and books that are supposed to induce terror...can you see where this is heading? A good, old fashioned horror should make you love and hate it at the same time and obviously this succeeded. when I was halfway through it I had a nightmare. I was in a theatre and was looking at the crowd. It turned to face the stage and a figure in a black cloak grabbed me and tried to suffocate me and I woke up gasping for my breath. Any way thats beside the point this won't help you to decide whether or not to buy the book. The book is very stylishly and uniquely written following the thoughts and feelings of each of the characters through diary entries and offer a wider point of view through newspaper cuttings, an interesting technique that shows what people outside of the story and the situation think. The forward by Elizabeth Kostova is excellent, very helpful and the bright attractive cover means it sits proudly on my book shelf in all its glory.I would suggest reading this book rather than watching the Bella Lugosi or Christopher Lee movies if you fancy being a bit scared, much more effective. Look, I'm no Barry Norman or whoever the equivalent is in the book review world is, just buy the book or at least borrow it, the original is always the best.
“Dracula”
(Paperback)
This is a book that you got to get into before your really enjoying it. At first I was close to giving up as I didnt understand the story, but now after I had a look on the internet about the charcters I can't put the book down !!
If your a vampire lover well this is sooo different to the Edward Culllen the sexy good vampire who wants a soul blah blah. This is a bad vampire who is killing every one and wants to get into london, I know it sound like a book all about killing but it's not. There is romance in there with the humans and there is also violence, soo really its like Twilight but in the 1800.
Its a good read :)

“Eternal Terror”
(Paperback)
"Dracula" by Bram Stoker is an absolute classic that has stood the test of time for good reason. This gothic masterpiece is filled with suspense, intrigue, and a sense of foreboding that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Stoker's portrayal of the legendary vampire Count Dracula is both terrifying and mesmerizing, making him one of the most iconic villains in literary history.
The epistolary format of the novel, told through letters, diary entries, and newspaper clippings, adds an extra layer of authenticity and immediacy to the story. The characters are well-developed and diverse, each bringing their own perspective to the narrative and contributing to the overall sense of dread and impending doom. "Dracula" is a must-read for any fan of horror or gothic literature, and its influence on pop culture is undeniable. It's a timeless tale that continues to captivate readers with its haunting atmosphere and unforgettable characters.
“Classic book,top notch recording”
(CD-Audio)
I had a copy of this radio recording which i taped as the story was originally broadcast back in the early 1990's. And of course over the years it got lost, and i'd struggled to find it again. So i was very pleased to find it reissued.
Of all the versions of this great book audio or visual in my opinion, this the best.
All the performances are understated which makes the story more believable, but powerful enough to make you empahthise with them, even the Count.
Even my mum who doesn't normally like horror genre enjoyed this recording.
Well worth the money.
