“Final Book - good and bad”
(Hardback)
The final book was again a lovely story to read, alas it didn't answer all the questions and somehow the publishers missed that the re-printed about 20 pages twice within the book, (so bit confusing when the story starts to repeat itself). enjoyed the book up to the end but did feel there was something missing and for the ending chosen i would have like to have heard more of the end result.
“inheritance”

All in all a good read up untill the end when I got to the end I was so dissapointed Christopher obviously couldnt be bothered to wright a good end to a fantastic saga I mean all through the series you want eragon and arya to end up together and it starts to look like they will then Christopher kicks you right in the junk and makes you feel like ripping the end of the book out and burning it as well as the feeling of you have just paid a guy for ruining your dream of the best ending ever I'm going to go back to the night angel trilogy at least I got what I paid for with that series
“unfortunate”
(Hardback)
warning spoilers, if like me you loved the other books and just couldnt wait to see eragon succeed then you may still love this book. i however was a bit outraged by the fact that everyone but eragon gets a happy ending. it also seemed that at every turn eragons role was to look more like a secondary figure, he never got to shine whilst his cousin roran seemed to have endless glory. the fact that eragon will leave to train others seemed more like the kinda book i want to read but now he wont return and i am mad because i dont think eragons role is finished and i really really wanted his love for arya to be regonised and for them to be together and christopher paolini couldnt even let him have a simple kiss, how could he have ended a great story by simply dismissing eragon as if he is of no importance. i hope if he writes more of alagaesia then he will find a way for eragon to return, thats my hope.
“Huge disappointment!!”
(Hardback)
As a fan of the series, I feel very dissapointed, even betrayed. The fourth book was supposed to answer all the questions raised in the three previous books, and bring closure to, at least, the main characters. The story within the first 750 pages were almost everything I expected. However, and after the climax, the last 100 pages really let me down. The resolution of the story is below expectations, the narration is weak and poor. Lots of questions are unanswered, and plots play out to be void. Throughout the last book, new points and twists appear to be promising only to be unresolved or dismissed in the end. In the last chapters, the sense of betrayal had me cry my eyes out. Never a book let me feeling so heartbroken.
“Such a shame”
(Hardback)
It was supposed to explain everything and it just felt as if a sequel was to be written. You just close this book with this feeling of having been stolen your time and your hopes.
Not that it was uninteresting but totally unchallenging, you just know what is about to happen and how, I never really got into the story, I just kept turning pages hoping to find some answers but apparently what I found interesting had no interest at all for the author (who are the women and her daughter blessed by Eragon and with whom Angela had plaid the fortuneteller ? You have such questions ??? you won't have any answers !)
We were promised a great trilogy, we were given an unfinished story with a taste of déjà-vu !
