“Frightfully good.”
(Paperback)
This is the most thought provoking book I've ever read. Both the style of writing and the plot drew me in and as soon as I understood where I was, I knew I was reading something special. The one thing I will say is this isn't beach reading!
“One of my favourites!”
(Paperback)
Read this as part of my Alevels a few years ago and have loved it ever since. Orwell's writing is haunting and prolific, with every sentence with its own chill and edge. I'd say this is a must read for anybody.
“wow why took me so long to read it”
(Paperback)
I think 1984 by George Orwell doesn't need an introduction or anything.
It is scary how relevant and accurate it is nowadays, even though it was written long ago.
Blew my mind. And I don't like dystopian books so it says a lot.
That's all I have to say about it.
“Classic book that never ages”
(Paperback)
This is one of those books that everyone is meant to have read. So I finally got round to reading it. Although its not the longest of books. It is heavy going.
Once you have read it you will see things from a different point of view and then see where the idea has been used in other popular culture media.
I did enjoy it and was glad I have read it, but doubt I will reread.
