SOLD OUT Time Out Live & Foyles present an evening with Salman Rushdie - Joseph Anton

Thursday 27th September 2012 7pm - 8pm Bloomsbury Theatre Literary Event, Chargeable Event

SORRY, THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT On 14 February, 1989, Salman Rushdie was 'sentenced to death' by the Ayatollah Khomeini, for writing The Satanic Verses. He was forced underground, moving from house to house under armed protection. To mark the release of his memoir of the fatwa, Joseph Anton (his alias while in hiding), one of our greatest living novelists tells this remarkable story for the first time, in conversation with David Aaronovitch. How does a writer and his family live with the threat of murder for over nine years? How does he fall in and out of love? How does despair shape his actions? And how does he learn to fight back?
