Creating Value Through Technology (Hardback)

Pre-order for despatch on publication.

All too often business leaders cite a lack of IT understanding as to why they don't embrace technology as much as they should and why they feel uncomfortable in challenging any new IT plans. This book aims to help CEOs, business owners, directors and turnaround professionals better understand the many roles that technology can play in creating meaningful shareholder value in their business.

Different technologies impact on different parts of the value chain in an organization, and it's important for business leaders to understand and identify which technology investments will be best aligned with the overall objectives of the business. Creating Value Through Technology provides the simple and proprietary REM Framework, centred around the basic levers of shareholder value creation - Revenue Growth, Earnings Growth and the Earnings Multiplier - in order to assess the potential of different technologies in creating value based on the business's overall strategy.

Chapters examine what existing technologies are available to businesses at each stage of the framework, how they can add value, and how to go about implementing them. There is also a detailed checklist to use when assessing the viability of these types of projects.

Creating Value Through Technology will instill in the reader a new-found confidence to challenge and engage their technical colleagues to implement a technology strategy that aligns itself with the overall aims of the business. Along the way, the book will also challenge common myths, and demystify and debunk jargon, acronyms and misconceptions.
