Synopsis

Dieses Buch vermittelt einen zusammenfassenden Dberblick der Theorie des Internationalen Handels und der relevanten empirischen Befunde. Es be- schrankt sich auf Fragen des reinen internationalen Handels. Internationale Wahrungsprobleme werden in diesem Buch nicht behandelt . Geometrische Modelle werden weitgehend dazu benutzt, urn die Theorie an- schaulich zu entwickeln. Das Hauptaugenmerk ist auf den einheitlichen und logisch zusammenhangenden Autbau eines Modells des internationalen Han- dels gerichtet. Dieses Modell dient dann als Grundlage zur Analyse auflen- wirtschaftspolitischer Fragen. Das Buch wird flir diejenigen Studenten der Wirtschaftswissenschaften besonders hilfreich sein, die logisch aufgebaute Grundkenntnisse tiber Fragen des internationalen Handels benotigen. Es ist mir eine besondere Freude, eine deutsche Ausgabe dieses Buches vor- liegen zu sehen. Professor W. Hesse (Universitat Gottingen) regte diese deut- sche Fassung an. Die Herren Dr. Ekkehard Stiller und Dr. Roland Stiller erar- beiteten zunachst eine Rohtibersetzung unter Beriicksichtigung der deutschen Verhiiltnisse. Frau Dipl.-Vw. Eva Scharrer tiberarbeitete das Buch dann voll- stan dig und ist fUr die endgiiltige deutsche Fassung verantwortlich. Professor M. Willms (Universitat Kiel) hat das Manuskript durchgesehen und mehrere Anregungen beigetragen.
