Despatched in 2 business days.

Mergers and acquisitions are a fundamental part of the business landscape, yet over half fail to deliver on their objectives.

Leading the Deal is the first essential step in boosting the probabilities of success, providing unique new insights into established strategies, and detailing the key psychological leverage points that allow leadership teams to effectively harness `people power' in the M&A process. Leading the Deal supports leaders at each step in the M&A journey and reveals a clear pathway to achieving M&A success.

Thras was a cofounder and partner at X2 Resources - a $4bn natural resource-focused private investment vehicle - responsible for strategic development, investor management, communications and post-acquisition integration. Prior to this, Thras was Group Head of Strategy and Corporate Affairs and a member of the Executive Committee at Xstrata plc until the company was sold to Glencore in 2013. As the member of Xstrata Plc's (FTSE top 20 company) executive board responsible for post-acquisition integration for over a decade, Thras has overseen numerous multi-billion dollar integrations, including the $3bn acquisition of MIM in 2003, the $20bn acquisition of Falconbridge in 2007 and the planning of the combination of Glencore and Xstrata into a highly complex $80bn global organisation in 2013. Over his career, Thras has travelled to some sixty countries, lived in four and worked in over thirty. He is of Greek descent and was born and raised in South Africa. Thras has authored various articles on strategy, leadership development and M&A, and co-authoring a book "Playing at Acquisitions, Smit and Moraitis, Princeton University Press, 2015" and related articles published in Long Range Planning and California Management Review.
