Customer Reviews

I bought this as summer reading for my two boys, the older one devoured it in a couple of days the younger enjoyed it being read to him (and I enjoyed the experience too). The book feels old-fashioned in a way, however the story is very modern one. I wondered about this and decided it’s about the quality of the writing and the setting in the Lake District and the depth of feeling I had about the characters, both hero’s and villains, that give it the feel of a classic kids adventure. Spylark in a new book but feels like some of the books I grew up loving, it’s great to be able to find that for my kids. If you have 8 to 12’s that love gadgets, spies or mysteries, and who doesn’t at that age, I highly recommend Spylark.
