Prof. Markos Papageorgiou ist der Autor der ersten und zweiten Auflage des Buches. Marion Leibold ist Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl fur Steuerungs- und Regelungstechnik der Elektrotechnik an der TU Munchen. Sie liest dort die Vorlesung "Optimierungsverfahren in der Automatiserungstechnik." Sie forscht im Bereich optimaler Steuerung hybrider dynamischer Systeme mit Anwendungen in der Robotik. Prof. Martin Buss ist Ordinarius am Lehrstuhl fur Steuerungs- und Regelungstechnik der Elektrotechnik an der TU Munchen und lehrt und forscht seit vielen Jahren unter anderem im Bereich Optimierung und Automatisierung.
