Unbestritten gehoert Klopstock zu den Schlusselautoren des 18. Jahrhunderts: Sein blosser Name war eine Chiffre poetisch erhoehten Lebens. Und dennoch ist die akademische Rezeption seiner Werke von jeher recht sparlich erfolgt und war auch weitgehend grossen Missverstandnissen ausgesetzt. Vernachlassigung und Missdeutung sind sicherlich nicht zuletzt darauf zuruckzufuhren, dass der Fortschritt der Literaturgeschichte schon zu seinen Lebzeiten uber ihn hinweggegangen zu sein schien. Nur langsam beginnt sich die Forschung von den sich hartnackig haltenden Vorurteilen zu befreien und das - jenseits klassischer literaturgeschichtlicher Erzahlungen - Zukunftsweisende, ja, Moderne und auch heute noch Aktuelle in Klopstocks Schaffen in den Blick zu nehmen.Das Klopstock-Handbuch setzt hier ganz bewusst neue Impulse und versammelt dafur ein moeglichst breites Spektrum neuerer und neuester Forschungsperspektiven. Klopstock und sein Werk werden in den vielfaltigen literarischen, rhetorischen, religioesen, politischen und gesellschaftlichen Umwalzungen des 18. Jahrhunderts verortet, deren Folgen bis heute zu spuren sind. Neben Interpretationen seiner Werke und der Darstellung seiner poetischen Konzepte liefert das Handbuch kontext- und diskursgeschichtliche Einbettungen ebenso wie Analysen zur Rhetorik und Metrik oder UEberlegungen zu Politik und Sport.

Delivery is free for the UK. Western Europe costs £60 for each 12 month subscription package purchased. For the Rest of the World the cost is £100 for each package purchased. Returns Information

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase*, you may return it to us in its original condition with in 30 days of receiving your delivery or collection notification email for a refund. Except for damaged items or delivery issues the cost of return postage is borne by the buyer. Your statutory rights are not affected.
