Customer Reviews

Shortlisted for the Costa Prize for poetry, this book deserves all the accolades it deserves. Only in the last year have I really thrown myself into poetry, and this has been at the top of many recommendation lists for me. Her short poems may lack capitals and punctuation, but they are brimming with rage, fury, love, passion. Grief and abuse at the hands of close family are topics tackled with personal experience in Lovelace's collection. It left me breathless. The Princess Saves Herself in this One is Amanda Lovelace's first published poetry collection, and I very much look forward to reading more of her work. Fans of Rupi Kaur and Warsan Shire will find much to like here.
