Synopsis

Don't Trust This Book

Don't Trust These People

Don't Trust Yourself

And whatever you do, DON'T give away that ending...

`Sarah Pinborough is about to become your new obsession' Harlan Coben

Louise

Since her husband walked out, Louise has made her son her world, supporting them both with her part-time job. But all that changes when she meets...

David

Young, successful and charming - Louise cannot believe a man like him would look at her twice let alone be attracted to her. But that all comes to a grinding halt when she meets his wife...

Adele

Beautiful, elegant and sweet - Louise's new friend seems perfect in every way. As she becomes obsessed by this flawless couple, entangled in the intricate web of their marriage, they each, in turn, reach out to her.

But only when she gets to know them both does she begin to see the cracks... Is David really the man she thought she knew and is Adele as vulnerable as she appears?

Just what terrible secrets are they both hiding and how far will they go to keep them?

`Fully realized characters, peerless writing, a tank of a plot that sustains the suspense right to the end, and a whammy of a finale. It takes a lot to catch me out, but this one did. It'll get you too...' Joanne Harris

Customer Reviews

I may well be in a minority here but I have to say that I loved "Behind Her Eyes" by Sarah Pinborough and I am really glad that I read it. The holy amazeballs ending is all that it's made out to be - shocking, unexpected and without a doubt the #WTF is going on conclusion that comes with the tagline of the story. Although billed as a psychological thriller it would be more apt to say that it borders on the paranormal too, but in a very clever and imaginative way that you'd NEVER expect. I do believe to get the full enjoyment from this book it should be read in one or two sittings otherwise I think you'd struggle immersing yourself into the concept of the story. I know many people have been very disappointed with the ending and when expecting a true psychological thriller I can understand their frustration as to how it ended but Stephen King gets away with thrillers containing the paranormal and the unbelievable and I personally believe it also works in this book. I'm not going to recommend it to everyone as it is such a marmite book but if the paranormal and really off the wall scenarios isn't your thing then I would give this a swerve but if you have an open mind and are prepared to accept that it isn't a 'normal' story then you should enjoy it. Way beyond the realms of comprehension but fun to read and if you don't know what all the fuss is about then you should get the shock you're expected to. An exceptionally talented, creative and imaginative author that deserves any credit given to her for "Behind Her Eyes"! Just don't take it seriously, expect the unexpected and enjoy the ride...... 4.5 stars
