What if you almost missed the love of your life? Laura Jane Williams combines sharp, relatable wit and bold, joyful sincerity' Dolly Alderton `The love story you need in your suitcase this summer!' Red `Hilarious, heart-warming and truly authentic - your modern rom com must-read!' Hello! ****** Nadia gets the 7.30 train every morning without fail. Well, except if she oversleeps or wakes up at her friend Emma's after too much wine. Daniel really does get the 7.30 train every morning, which is easy because he hasn't been able to sleep properly since his dad died. One morning, Nadia's eye catches sight of a post in the daily paper: To the cute girl with the coffee stains on her dress. I'm the guy who's always standing near the doors... Drink sometime? So begins a not-quite-romance of near-misses, true love, and the power of the written word. A #1 ebook bestseller, this wonderfully funny will-they-won't-they romance is told with real emotional honesty, and is perfect for those who loved Dolly Alderton's Everything I Know About Love as well as fans of Lucy Vine, Holly Bourne's How Do You Like Me Now?, Mhairi McFarlane's Don't You Forget About Me and Beth O'Leary's The Flatshare. ****** What readers are saying about Our Stop... `What a gorgeous, quirky and heart-warming story. It's a Sliding Doors for our modern generation and I greedily devoured every page.' `Honest, refreshing, brave, progressive, insightful, warm, uplifting and, above all, inspirational. A book that has genuinely had a positive impact on my life. A must-read!' `This book delivered in bucket loads - and then some! It is funny, thoughtful, witty, charming and respectful, and was a thoroughly entertaining read that I would really love to see adapted into a film someday!' `This is not your stereotypical boy-meets-girl chick lit ... This is an innovative, modern day Sliding Doors style chick lit where you follow the #OurStop journey with Daniel and Nadia.' `This book is an ode to You've Got A Mail!! It was funny, romantic, simple, yet filled with so much emotion.'

Brilliant, fun and quirky What if you missed the chance of meeting your true love? That first encounter passed you by- what if? Our Stop plays with this question, again and again. It was quite like the film Serendipity. But it was less about the person's personality or the people's connection and more based off looks. Daniel sees a woman get the same 7:30am train he does. She's always busy and in a hurry, phone in hand. Her attention elsewhere. He likes the look of her and plans to meet her. Not approach her on the train- because that would be creepy. Not follow her off- because that might land him in trouble. He decides to write of her in the newspaper column, Missed Connections. She's not someone he'll let slip by. Nadia thinks it's her after reading the snippet, as she always does. She is excited by the thought- and from there the story takes off! What follows is cliche after cliche but because it was well-thought out and realistically written, it didn't read like the author was the first to think those little plots. I really liked this book, I do wish though the newspaper clippings lasted longer! And that we saw more of the blossoming romance (perhaps there will be a sequel? Fingers crossed) as opposed to the love at first sight and frequent missed chances. I have read a few books with this same plot (The Note by Zoe Folbigg and How To Fall In Love With The Man Who Lives In a Bush by Emily Abrahamson), and I like them every time. What sets this book apart however is the vulnerability of William's characters. Daniel is grieving his father's recent passing. He doesn't want to be the third wheel or the underdog in the world of relationships and love. But he's also self-aware, he doesn't want to scare her or be stalkerish. While, Nadia is battling insecurity after a messy relationship, and struggling to get her busy life together. A really good holiday read to affirm what we all know is true, love is in the air. I received this book for review consideration. All opinions are honest and completely my own.

From the dedication page - “For anyone who, like me, chooses to believe (despite all the evidence to the contrary)” - and the first two chapters, Laura Jane Williams had me hooked! I was laughing from the outset and this didn’t stop throughout the whole book. I was so invested in the two main characters Nadia and Daniel whose perspective the chapters alternate between and for me this made their journeys so special. The premise grabbed my attention immediately as I have wondered in the past just what could happen to the people who write in to the Metro’s ‘Rush Hour Crush’ if they were ever to read and realise the message was about them. Enter Nadia and Daniel and a Monday morning post in the daily paper’s ‘Missed Connections’ section from Daniel. I couldn’t wait to discover if Nadia and Daniel would always remain just a missed connection or if this post could change their lives forever. This story was refreshing and so much fun to read. There were so many little things along the way like the hashtag that made me laugh and relate to the world we live in today. I loved getting to know Nadia and her two best friends Emma and Gaby and discovering the equally wonderful traits of Daniel and his friendships, especially with Romeo. So many times I found myself inwardly shouting ‘Oh No!’ because of how much I wanted certain things for these characters! I love that I felt this genuine concern and connection to these wonderful people who I will really miss now that their story for me has come to its final destination. The ending of the book was just perfect too and I really loved the epilogue! I would recommend this book to everyone and cannot wait to see what novels Laura writes in the future!
