From the million-copy bestselling author, BA Paris

`A psychological page-turner' - Good Housekeeping

If you can't trust yourself, who can you trust?

It all started that night in the woods.

Cass Anderson didn't stop to help the woman in the car, and now she's dead.

Ever since, silent calls have been plaguing Cass and she's sure someone is watching her.

Consumed by guilt, she's also starting to forget things. Whether she took her pills, what her house alarm code is - and if the knife in the kitchen really had blood on it.

Customer Reviews

I really enjoyed "The Breakdown" by B.A. Paris, it had a well thought out, entertaining plot and was a quick, easy to read page turner. Cass Anderson didn't stop to help a woman in a car who looked liked she'd broken down, late at night. Now the woman is dead. Ever since, Cass has been plagued with silent calls and is convinced someone is watching her. Consumed by guilt, her memory starts playing tricks on her. Can she convince her husband and friends she's not going mad, and just how close to home is the murderer? A couple of times I did think I had the plot worked out but no, I was completely wrong and I enjoyed the twists and turns the journey took me on to the conclusion and I thought the ending very fitting and quite compelling. There was a small part in the middle of the book that I did zone out on a little, the silent telephone calls became a bit monotonous and to be honest, had it been me I'd have either took the phone off the hook or changed my number but I understand how important the calls were to the mental state of Cass' mind and how big a part they played in the overall plot. I would recommend this book to psychological thriller readers, its well worth a read and with the slow build up of suspense I did find it highly entertaining. I haven't read but do own the author's previous book "Behind Closed Doors" and I now look forward to seeing what surprises and twists lie in store there. 4 stars
