The Unfinished Symphony of You and Me (Paperback)

Despatched in 2 business days.

A wonderfully witty and gorgeously romantic story of facing your fears and falling in love.

Sally is an incredible singer but she sings only in her wardrobe where nobody can hear her. She'd rather join a nudist colony than sing in public.

That is until she ventures to New York where a wild and heady summer of love and loss changes her forever. No longer able to hide in the shadows, Sally must return home to London to fulfill a promise she cannot break - to share her voice.

But just as she's about to embark on her new life, a beautiful man turns up on Sally's doorstep bearing a sheepish smile and a mysterious hand-written message.

How did he find her? Why is he here? Does he hold the truth to what happened back in New York? And, with him back on the scene, will she still have the courage to step into the spotlight?

'We want to climb the highest mountain and shout about this book to the world. We laughed, we cried, we fell in love' Heat

'You'll be laughing one minute and crying the next; this book will stay with you' Lucy Diamond

'I flaming loved it. If you like cheering on heroines to meet their goals, find love and battle life into submission - you'll love this!' Milly Johnson

Lucy Robinson is the author of The Greatest Love Story of All Time, A Passionate Love Affair with a Total Stranger and The Unfinished Symphony of You and Me. Lucy worked in theatre and then television documentaries before starting a blog for Marie Claire about her laughably unsuccessful foray into the world of online dating. She did not meet a man during this time but she did become a novelist: every cloud has a silver lining. She now lives in Bristol with her partner, The Man, whom she met when she took off to Buenos Aires to become a bohemian writer in 2010. unusual setting for a book - in the world of opera. The unfinished symphony focuses on a girl who is scared to sing in public and can only sing sitting in her wardrobe. She takes on a job working as a wardrobe mistress but her heart is in singing. The story weaves around her and her cousin who dies, and the fall out afterwards plus the romances along the way. Cleverly done jumping back and forth in time, a real page turner!

This is Lucy Robinson’s third book and her best yet to date. I was so pleased when this dropped through my letter box from Real Readers. I laughed and cried throughout. I read this in one go at the weekend. There was the will they won’t they element to this story. The main character is Sally a fantastic opera singer but has no confidence, working in opera but never performing- until she goes to New York and where she experiences a summer of love and also loss but is a life changing experience for her. The descriptions of the opera world and house were interesting and I found this was fascinating. Maybe the title should have been the unfinished opera. Lucy Robinson writes for today and this was at a good pace. Fans of Jojo Moyes will love this book. This book will be out on the 19th June- just in time to be on the shelves at the airport and to upload to the Kindle for the summer and the beach. Good story line, good chick lit book.
