Synopsis

In her highly anticipated new novel, beloved author BJ Hoff (more than 300,000 combined sales) weaves a tale of love, friendship, and faith in the God who unites us. Rumors are abuzz in the small Kentucky mining town of Skingle Creek. Frank Kelly left his home in Ireland to seek a measure of peace and healing after the tragic loss of his wife. Soon, however, the young doctor finds himself struggling to manage a much larger medical practice than he'd anticipated. Adding to his difficulties is the beautiful Ariel, a young woman who seems to exist under a cloud of mystery and misfortune. Drawn to the lovely Ariel against his will, Dr. Kelly must decide if he will allow his heart to love once again. When Strangers Meet is the story of two people from different cultures who must tear down the walls of suspicion and resentment and replace them with a firm faith in God.

BJ Hoff's bestselling historical novels continue to cross the boundaries of religion, language, and culture to capture a worldwide reading audience. Her books include Song of Erin and American Anthem and such popular series as The Riverhaven Years, The Mountain Song Legacy, and The Emerald Ballad. Hoff's stories, although set in the past, are always relevant to the present. Whether her characters move about in small country towns or metropolitan areas, reside in Amish settlements or in coal company houses, she creates communities where people can form relationships, raise families, pursue their faith, and experience the mountains and valleys of life. BJ and her husband make their home in Ohio.
