Science of Strength Training: Understand the anatomy and physiology to transform your body (Hardback)

Pre-order for despatch on publication.

Perfect each exercise and build your strongest body - at home or in the gym.

Whether you are looking to tone and sculpt your body, lose weight, gain a sporting edge, support bone strength, or improve posture, strength training can help you to achieve your goals.

This book anatomises more than 100 exercises to identify the muscles worked and how they engage at each stage, so you can feel you're getting it right. Over half the exercises can be performed at home, and, where possible, at-home variations are given for those using gym machinery.

Understand the hard science behind how best to build and maintain muscle mass, raise metabolism, and reduce body fat.

Apply in-depth dietary advice to maintain a healthy, balanced diet that supports muscle building, including on a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Follow flexible workout programmes targeting a range of abilities and aims.

Explore the science behind each lift, press, push, and pull to become your own personal trainer.
