Synopsis

Edward Leslie was a young engineer who went to live in a remote area in Scotland in 1912 and stayed there all his life. He found that the local people were disadvantaged by having no electric light so he designed a rugged home generator set. This led to improved education for young people who learned new skills, a knitting co-operative for women, a bothy for walkers and an adventure centre for visitors. The community was regenerated. The poignant story of a man who found fulfilment and respect by choosing a lifestyle dedicated to the needs of others less advantaged than himself.
