Reading Sociology: Canadian Perspectives (Paperback)

Unavailable. No reason given.

Reading Sociology: Canadian Perspectives, second edition, is a contributed reader comprised of edited contributions from members of the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA). The reader is divided into sixteen parts, beginning with 'What is Sociology?' and followed by 15 parts ranging in topic from 'Culture' and 'Deviance' to 'Work' and 'Health'. These topics serve as thematic lenses through which students can follow and investigate the study of sociology based on their own interests or to meet course requirements. With over 60 readings, a new correlation guide is included so that students can see how one reading is connected to another and encourage them to read conceptually. This text is intended for students in first- and second-year introductory sociology courses. This reader will give students an overview of the depth and breadth of current sociological research. It will most likely be used in conjunction with a standard introductory text, but may also be used as a core text.

Lorne Tepperman is one of Canada's leading sociologists, a professor of sociology at the University of Toronto, and the former president of the Canadian Sociological Association. He has edited a number of texts for OUP Canada, including successful titles such as Sociology: A Canadian Perspective, Principles of Sociology: Canadian Perspectives, and Starting Points: A Sociological Journey as well as acting as editor for OUP Canada's sociology series, which explores key themes in the discipline.
