Synopsis

Copepoden (kleine Ruderfubkrebse) sind von besonderer Bedeutung fur okologische Gewasseruntersuchungen, da sie in nahezu allen aquatischen Biotopen vorkommen und ihre Untersuchung Ruckschlusse auf Gewassergute und auf Veranderungen von Umweltbedingungen von Umweltbedingungen zulabt. Der vorliegende Band behandelt die Ordnungen Gelyelloida und Harpacticoida. Gelyelloida kommen ausschlieblich im Grundwasser vor, Harpacticoida sind sowohl im Grundwasser als auch im Benthal der Oberflachengewassern verbreitet. Die Autoren prasentieren die vollstandige Taxonomie und Systematik dieser Gruppen; die Okologie bildet einen weiteren Schwerpunkt. Die Rolle von Gelyelloida und Harpacticoida bei der Umsetzung von Biomasse ist zwar noch nicht abschliebend untersucht, fur die Stabilitat des biologischen Gleichgewichtes in Gewassern durfte ihnen jedoch eine besondere Rolle zukommen.Ubersicht uber die lieferbaren Bande der Reihe.
