Synopsis

The role of data and information and communication technology (ICT) is growing in all areas of transport, with autonomous vehicles among the most advanced examples. This opens up opportunities for malevolent interference, such as remote-controlling vehicles for criminal or terrorist purposes. Therefore, cybersecurity schemes and technologies need to be developed, tested and implemented for ground based, naval, and aerial transportation systems.

Focusing on the management of security and the principles of security technologies as applied to transport systems, this book equips readers with an understanding of what management actions need to be taken and what sort of technologies are suitable to deploy in defending against cyberattacks. The principle of technologies are addressed so that the book remains relevant in what is a fast-changing landscape.

Cybersecurity in Transport Systems provides insights across multiple modes of transport, including real life advice from practitioners. It also addresses advances and themes in current research.

The book is aimed primarily at an audience of researchers working on intelligent transportation systems, and cyber security experts - especially those developing cyber defences within transport related organisations.
