Bioethics

In preparing Volume 1A, we have been able to secure chapters from a number of bioethicists who have tried to give the reader, in particular, the student, a clear idea of how bioethics is now impinging on medicine. Though we attach weight to the subject of abortion, this has been omitted because it is too controversial. Ethical issues arising in the field of clinical genetics are addressed in the Molecular and Cellular Genetics module (Volume 4).
