Christ as Devotio: The Argument of Galatians 3:1-14

Christ as Devotio examines the notion of the curse of the Law in the epistle to the Galatians that is a crux interpretum in the history of exegesis. The author shows that a puzzling contradiction in Gal 3:10 can be resolved through a simple grammatical argument. This solution facilitates the interpretation of Gal 3:13 in which Christ effects the redemption by becoming a curse. The author has adduced evidence from Jewish, Greek and Roman sources to elucidate the mechanism whereby Christ carried out the work of redemption through his atoning death.
