Contact: A Comprehensive English Course for CXC (C-Sec)

This compact and practical text supports the teacher of English and communication skills with interesting, informative and useful material. At the same time it engages the learner in explorations and activities to develop academic and life skills in an entertaining way. The 30 units are designed to take the student through the final two years of preparation for the Caribbean Examination Council's Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEC) examinations. Three units give examination practice, while the remaining ones provide a range of stimulus material with appropriate comprehension exercises. Guidance is given for a wide variety of written and oral tasks, and there is a series of items which explain and give practice in points of grammar and the mechanics of writing. Appendices provide reference material relating to punctuation, grammar, spelling and literary devices, and an index facilities searchers for particular items of information. Users are also encouraged to familiarise themselves with maps of the Caribbean and of the world, found inside the covers of the book.
