Like its companion volumes, this sampler of libidinous texts presents a journey through three centuries of erotic writing - from robust eighteenth-century masterpieces such as Andrea de Nericat's The Pleasures of Lolotte, through the nineteenth-century English erotic canon - represented here by such works as A Man with a Maid and Walter's My Secret Life - to the Edwardian tale Maudie and beyond. These extracts provide the reader with a flavour of each of the dozen featured books, works once known only to scholars and students of erotic literature.
