After Operation Cobra, Monty transferred the divisions of the Eighth Corps and the Thirtieth Corps in the sector of Caumont for an attack launched 30th July, thereafter known as Operation Bluecoat. The British losses were very high facing the Tiger and Jadgdpanther elite German forces.
