Microprocessors: Principles and Applications

This text covers single-chip microprocessors, 16-bit microprocessors, mass storage devices, operating systems, and provides an overview of the microprocessor-based product design process. Wherever possible, theoretical concepts are supported by real-life examples using the 8- and 16-bit microprocessors introduced in the text, along with their peripheral devices. The examples are illustrated with simplified schematic diagrams and short programming examples. Performance objectives and critical questions are included in each chapter.
