Multiconductor Transmission Line Structures: Modal Analysis Techniques
Synopsis
Multiconductor transmission lines (multiple lines for transferring information) are of great importance in the area of microwave monolithic (single chip) integrated circuits in which many transmission lines are located within close proximity. These transmission lines are used on semiconductor chips and because of increasing miniaturization of integrated circuits, they are of increasing interest. This study of the subject emphasizes microwave applications. The theory and methods developed may also be useful for the analysis of electronic high-speed interconnects, and for the analysis of modal propagation along polyphase powerlines. The text contains a rigorous treatment of the subjects, intermediate steps in the derivation of results, and a presentation of several worked-out numerical examples.
