Synopsis
A selection of non-fiction writings composed of essays and reviews written between 1968 and 1985. Beginning with an account of Mavis Gallant's impressions of the student uprising in May 1968, the book presents a whole range of subjects portraying French society, as well as essays ranging from architecture to literary style plus an article on French writer Marguerite Yourcenar. Mavis Gallant is a Canadian writer living in Paris and is the author of ten books, including "Home Truths" and "Overhead in a Balloon".
