PeroxisOMICS: Identifying Novel Functions and Regulatory Networks of Peroxisomes
Synopsis
This volume provides a comprehensive, state-of-the-art overview of “omics” approaches used to investigate peroxisomes of mammalian, fungal, and plant origin, and includes contributions from leading experts in the field. The development and application of omics approaches—including advanced proteomics and mass spectrometry technologies, metabolomics, and lipidomics—combined with bioinformatics methods now enable the identification of low-abundance and transient peroxisomal proteins and allow for the characterization of the complete peroxisomal proteome. They also facilitate the analysis of alterations in lipid composition and metabolic activities, thereby increasing our understanding of the metabolic and regulatory networks of these medically important cellular organelles.
This book aligns with these developments and aims to provide valuable insights for molecular cell biologists, biochemists, and biomedical researchers with an interest in peroxisome and organelle biology.
