Solar Cells: Introduction to Crystalline Photovoltaic Technology

This text provides an introduction to the theory and fabrication of crystalline silicon solar cells and modules. Written for engineers, this book fills the existing gap between rigorous treatments of solar cells as semiconductor devices and the numerous simpler descriptions of solar cells that present little, if any, discussion of physical device mechanisms. Emphasis is placed on the explanation of physical concepts, rather than on mathematical rigor. A prior understanding of semiconductor devices is not required. The book should provide engineers, technicians, and project managers who are new to the solar cell field with an understanding of crystalline silicon cell technology.
