Origami, or paperfolding, is a modern phenomenon with ancient roots. It is impossible to say when and where paper was first folded, or who it was that first discovered that paperfolding could be more than just a practical way to prevent furniture rocking. But what we do know is that today's paperfolders will happily fold virtually anything, anywhere: Paris Metro tickets, advertising flyers, teabag labels, business cards and so on.
